「Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;

　But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.」　Amen.

Throughout history, many nations have flaunted their chariots and horses to show off their power. Many have boasted of their contributions and abilities to show off their power. But blessed are those who put their trust in God. It seems to take courage to say that you trust God where you live now. But say it out loud and you will find that there is nothing to be ashamed of.

May we continue to put our trust in the Lord today.

『ある者は戦車を　ある者は馬を求める。

　しかし私たちは

　私たちの神　【主】の御名を呼び求める。』

  歴史上、多くの国が、力を誇示するために戦車や馬をひけらかします。多くの人が、自分の力を誇示するために、貢献度や能力を自慢にします。でも、神様に信頼を寄せる人は、幸いな人です。今、住んでいるこの場所で、神様に信頼を寄せてるということを言い放つ事は勇気のある行動です。でも、言い放ってしまうと何てことはないのです。

　今日も、主に信頼を寄せることができますように・・・。

「Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

　Be acceptable in Your sight,

　O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.」　Amen.

  Jesus is the Redeemer. He gave his life to save me, a man of no achievement, no merit, and no ability. He made me sinless. He gave me eternal life. He prepared the way to heaven. David also drew near to God's grace, saying, “Redeemer.”

May we draw near to the Lord today as well.

『私の口のことばと　私の心の思いとが

　御前に受け入れられますように。

　【主】よわが岩わが贖い主よ。』

  イエス様は、贖い主です。何の功績もなく、何の取柄もなく、何の能力もない、この私をイエス様は命をかけて救ってくださったのです。罪なき者としてくださったのです。永遠の命を与えてくださったのです。天国への道を備えてくださったのです。ダビデも神様の恵みに「贖い主」と言って、近づいていったのです。

　今日も、主に近づく事ができますように・・・。

「As for God, His way is perfect;

The word of the Lord is proven;

He is a shield to all who trust in Him.」 Amen.　

Because David was king, he had resources, weapons, and funds at his disposal. His army was also strong and won most battles. But he did not take God's power lightly. He referred to God's protection as "rock," "fortress," "shield," "horns," and "turrets. He would praise the Lord at all times.

May today be another day of praising the Lord.

『神その道は完全。

【主】のことばは純粋。

主はすべて主に身を避ける者の盾。』

  ダビデは王様ですから、その人材も武器も金銭も自由に使えることができました。その軍団も強くて、ほとんどの戦いに勝利をおさめていました。しかしながら、神の力を蔑ろにはしていませんでした。神様が守ってくださることを、「岩」「砦」「盾」「角」「櫓」というような表現で表していました。どんな時にも主を前に置き、賛美していたのです。

　今日も、主に賛美する一日となりますように・・・。

『4:29 悪いことばを、いっさい口から出してはいけません。むしろ、必要なときに、人の成長に役立つことばを語り、聞く人に恵みを与えなさい。4:30 神の聖霊を悲しませてはいけません。あなたがたは、贖いの日のために、聖霊によって証印を押されているのです。4:31 無慈悲、憤り、怒り、怒号、ののしりなどを、一切の悪意とともに、すべて捨て去りなさい。4:32 互いに親切にし、優しい心で赦し合いなさい。神も、キリストにおいてあなたがたを赦してくださったのです。

パウロは、エペソ人への手紙の中で、「聞く人に恵みを与えなさい」と書かれました。聞く人に恵みを与えるためには、どうしたらいいのか、一つは、感謝の言葉を使うことです。それから、肯定的・積極的な言葉を使うことです。そして、神様から受けたいのちの言葉を他の人にも流すことです。相手が受けとろうと受け取らなくても使い続けることです。神様の祝福は、相手が受け取ると相手に流れるし、受け取らなくても、自分に戻って来るのです。

お祈り致します。

愛する天のお父様、み名を崇め感謝します。あなたは、人に恵みを与えなさい、聖霊を悲しませてはいけないと言われました。日々過ごす中で、もっと感謝の言葉を、もっと積極的・肯定的な言葉を使うことができますようにお導き願います。そして、多くの人々にそのような言葉を流す事ができるようにお助け願います。今日の礼拝を感謝し、主イエス・キリストのお名前によってお祈り致します。　アーメン。

「I have set the Lord always before me;Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.」　

　Amen.

  There are three heroes at work in the eye. They are: the eyebrows, which keep sweat and water from getting into the eyes; the eyelashes, which are always on the lookout and close the eyelids as soon as they sense danger; and the tears, which expel dust that has invaded the eyes. These three heroes are always protecting us without our commanding them. In the same way, God is always and everywhere protecting us.

May we rest in the shade of God's wings today.

『瞳のように私を守り

御翼の陰にかくまってください。』

 瞳には、三勇士が活躍しています。汗や水が瞳に入らないように守る「眉毛勇士」、いつも見張っていて危険を感じたら、すぐに瞼を閉じさせる「まつ毛勇士」、そして、侵入してきたホコリを外に追い出す「涙勇士」、この三勇士は、私たちが命令しなくても、絶えず守ってくださっているのです。同じように、神様も私たちを絶えず、いつでも、どこでも、守ってくださっているのです。

　今日も、神様の御翼の陰で休むことができますように・・・。

「I have set the Lord always before me;Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.」　

　Amen.

　The title of chapter 16 is “A Michtam of David.” which means “Among the Pearl of David's Songs.” The label established by Mr. Chu Kosaka, who passed away last year, was called Michtam. He sang, “I have set the Lord before me.” Whether you are an unbeliever or a believer, difficulties will come. The difference is whether you put the Lord before you or not.

　Today, too, may we set the Lord before us.
