「Do not boast about tomorrow,

　For you do not know what a day may bring forth.」　Amen.

　One knows about the past and will be able to see the present. But we do not know the future. But God knows the past, the present, and the future. Therefore, it is wise to leave the future in God's hands. The Bible says, “Do not worry about tomorrow”、“Prepare for tomorrow” 、“Do not boast about tomorrow,” and Rely on the Lord.

　May today be another day of relying on the Lord....

『明日のことを誇るな。

　一日のうちに何が起こるか、

　あなたは知らないのだから。』

　人は、過去の事は知っていますし、現在の事も見えることでしょう。でも、未来の事は分からないのです。でも、神様は、過去も現在も未来も知っておられるのです。だから、未来の事は神の御手に委ねた方が賢明なのです。聖書では、未来の事は、「明日の事は心配するな」、「明日に備えよ」、「明日の事を誇るな」、そして、主に拠り頼めと語っているのです。

　今日も、主に拠り頼む一日となりますように・・・。

「Whoever digs a pit will fall into it,

　And he who rolls a stone will have it roll back on him.」Amen.

There is a saying, “If you curse others, you will be cursed,” meaning that if you harm others, you will also be harmed. There are many examples of this in the Bible. For example, in the book of Samuel, a man named Haman tried to kill Mordecai by setting up a pillar, but he ended up being crucified by the pillar and died. Curses and deceptions return as curses and calamities to ourselves.Love and blessings also come back to us.

　May you be filled with the Lord's love and blessings today....

『穴を掘る者は、自分がその穴に陥り、

　石を転がす者は、自分の上にそれを転がす。』

「人を呪わば穴二つ」と言う言葉がありますが、他人に害を与えれば自分も害を受けるという意味です。聖書の中にでてくる話でもそういう事例は散見されます。たとえば、サムエル記の中に、ハマンという人がモルデカイを殺そうとして柱を立てるのですが、結局、自分がその柱に架けられて死んでしまったのです。呪いや悪だくみは、自分自身への呪いや災いとなって返ってくるのです。

愛や祝福も、また、自分へ戻って来るのです。

　今日も、主の愛や祝福で満たされますように・・・。

「Where there is no wood, the fire goes out;

　And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases.」　Amen.

(Luke 23:12) “That very day Pilate and Herod became friends with each other, for previously they had been at enmity with each other.” These two men became friends by speaking ill of Jesus. Talking behind one's back is like putting wood in a fire. There is a story like this. The wife of a subordinate came to Peter the Great and spoke ill of her husband. When she spoke ill of her husband, Peter said, “It's none of my business.” The wife then invited him to speak ill of Peter the Great as well. The emperor immediately said, “It is none of your business.” Do not be careless and do not speak ill of others.　

　May you spend today in the shade of the Lord's wings....

『薪がなければ火が消えるように、

　陰口をたたく者がいなければ争いはやむ。』

　(ルカ23:12)「この日、ヘロデとピラトは親しくなった。それまでは互いに敵対していたのである。」この二人は、イエスを悪く言うことで仲良くなりました。「陰口」は火の中に薪をくべるようなものです。こういう話があります。ピョートル大帝の所に、部下の奥さんがやってきてご主人の悪口を言いました。すると、ピョートル大帝は、「私の知ったことではない」と、言いました。すると夫人は、「陛下の悪口も言いますの」と誘いをかけます。すかさず大帝は、「あなたの知ったことではない」と、言ったそうです。迂闊に人の悪口に乗らない事です。　

　今日も、主の御翼の陰で過ごされますように・・・。

「He who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own

　Is like one who takes a dog by the ears.」　Amen.

What is a conflict that does not concern you? It is not indifference, but rather meddling when you cannot solve the problem by yourself. They interfere thinking they can solve all problems. It is said that a person who intervenes without a prayerful heart, such a person is bitten by a dog. I want to be a person who prays for others without interfering or meddling.

　May we pray for our neighbors today....

『自分に関係のない争いにいきり立つ者は、

　通りすがりの犬の耳をつかむ者のようだ。』

　自分に関係のない争いとは何なんでしょうか。無関心というよりも、自分の力では解決できないのに口出しする。自分がすべての問題を解決できると思って干渉してくる。祈る心もないのに、割って入る人、そんな人は犬にがぶっと噛みつかれるというのです。干渉したり、口出ししたりしないで、人の為に祈る人になりたいものです。

　今日も、隣人の為に祈ることができますように・・・。　

「A whip for the horse,A bridle for the donkey,

　And a rod for the fool's back.」　Amen.

　Fools need a whip to make them walk right. Then, what kind of people are fools? Those who refuse to admit their own faults, those who refuse to listen to the advice of others, and the most foolish of all are those who turn their backs on God the Creator. (Psalms 51:17) “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,A broken and a contrite heart-These, O God, You will not despise.”

　May we spend today with a broken heart....

『馬にはむち。ろばにはくつわ。

　愚かな者の背中にはむち。』

　愚か者には、正しく歩かせるように鞭が必要です。では、愚か者とは、どういう人たちの事でしょう。自分の過ちを認めない人、他人の忠告に耳を貸さない人、そして、一番愚かな人は、創造主なる神様に背を向けている人ではないでしょうか。(詩篇51篇17節)「神へのいけにえは砕かれた霊。打たれ砕かれた心。神よあなたはそれを蔑まれません。｣

　今日も、砕かれた心で過ごせますように・・・。
