As we celebrate the culture of our heritage, I decided to review Past Lives, because it is a true Asian American story, and I think it’s a good time to spotlight stories like this. Stories that juxtapose different expressions of love.

【In this episode】

Today, we hear it from the actors themselves, how the awkwardness between Arthur and Hae Sung was planned, so that it would be real when it came time for them to first meet on film.

We also finally dive into the script - and we start from the very top - with the question, "what do you think they are to each other?"

We also talk about the degrees of drunkenness - which may come in handy for social circumstance!

【In this episode】

Spoiler alert* the movie starts and ends with the same scene! It took 2 days to shoot this crucial scene, and as Greta Lee said, "and arguably, the movie's success lives and dies on this bar scene." Today, we look at this scene, and its genesis - where it comes from.
