    Really good
it is a really good story just like the other books in the series.
the end is sad and I wish it didn't end like that.
this book has a lot of death and violence in it.
I recommend this book for all ages over 10.
especially people in their early teens.
    Awesome
Just. Plain. Awesome. You will love this book. It is the best book in the monster series of Amazon books. Buy it
    Swears too much
These books have a good storyline, but swear way way too much. Practically every sentence swears. Bad.

Perfect book to listen to on a road trip!
We picked this book, honestly, because we all thought the title was hilarious. Our whole family listened to it on the way and on the way home from somewhere in one day. The pace was fast enough to keep everyone interested And even when given the option to play their iPads the kids all wanted to finish listening. We have already decided to get the other book on our next excursion! We all loved it!

Mary Draper knows she is a normal, gap-toothed schoolgirl--until her sleep disorder is brought to light, she dreams her cat can talk like a toff, she learns how to use the camera obscura and wishing steps; and she rescues her Victorian friend, a suspected jewel thief. The reason: Mary Draper can time travel!
    Members Reviews:
A different take on time travel stories
If you could sum up Mary Draper Dreams of Castles in the Sky in three words, what would they be?
    Curious
    Captivating
    Amusing
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mary was my favourite character. She is able to time-hop during her dreams when she sleeps, and can travel back to Victorian times where she makes some good friends. She has some great adventures with her new friends, but she has to keep remembering that a lot of the things she takes for granted in her time have not even been invented yet in her friends time!
What does Billie Fulford-Brown bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you had only read the book?
The narrator has a nice voice that is pleasant to listen to. She adds great depth to the characters and really captures their accents and their little quirks.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were a few parts within the story were I felt for the characters, but I liked the adventure side of the story better.
    Any additional comments?
I loved that it was not only Mary's ability to time-hop that was different, it was also the fact that the story has a talking cat too! He made me laugh.

Length: 4 hrs and 34 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 09-02-14
    Publisher: Listening Library
    Genres: Kids, Ages 8-10
    Publisher's Summary:
Meet Daisy Bauer and her sometimes best friend, Graham, who are determined to break Daisy's dad out of prison in this hilarious middle-grade debut.
No one believes her, but Daisy Bauer knows her dad has been wrongfully imprisoned and that it's up to her to break him out of jail (aka Club Fed). She has a plan that she's calling the Graham Cracker Plot because it was all Graham's idea. She just needs a miniature horse, a getaway truck, and a penny from 1919 - the idea coin.
This funny, nail-biter of a novel is about friendship and admitting you're wrong. Debut novelist Shelley Tougas balances humor and warmth against themes of family, broken trust, and unconditional love against all odds.

    Five Stars!!
My 10-year-old son and I both read this book, and we both loved it! It manages to be funny and endearing while touching on many serious topics. Tougas did an amazing job of writing from the perspective of a child. The conversations between Daisy and Graham and their often nonsensical thought processes are so authentic. As a parent and former teacher, I could see this book being used to discuss some difficult social topics with children. On the other hand, it can also be read for pure entertainment. I look forward to reading more from Tougas!
    The Graham Cracker Plot
While I'm somewhat behind on writing my review for The Graham Cracker Plot-I blame an inability to coherently form my thoughts on it-I did want to share my thoughts on it. Even though I wound up enjoying this one I was left with mixed thoughts on it.
Overall, I really enjoyed the writing, characters, and plot of The Graham Cracker Plot. My problem came from the fact that this book was somewhat depressing as the story behind Daisy's father's jailing came to light. It really just broke my heart reading about that and how what she learned changed the way she viewed her father. What really made it sad was that it was an element to the book that caught me off guard. I really wasn't expecting to be hit with something that heavy while I was reading this one, I was more prepared for a light caper. Even so, this unexpected element was so well done that I cannot truly find fault with it.
Unexpected heaviness aside, what I really enjoyed about The Graham Cracker Plot would have to be the characterization. I just could not hep but enjoy watching Daisy's story unfold. Sure, it made me sad and mad at times, but the way she came to understand the truth of why her father was not there was so good. As difficult as everything was that Daisy faced, I found everything to be well written-from her plans to free the Chemist to the evolution of her feelings after she learns the truth.
So, while I enjoyed the overall plot-line and the characterization, it was Shelley Tougas' writing that really made it all come together. I thought she did one amazing job of bringing every thing together into one whole. While there were definitely some heart-wrenching moments throughout the book, it was the lightness of the plotting balanced with the seriousness that really made this a interesting book.
I guess you could say that I enjoyed the two polarizing sides of this book. On the lighter side, I liked reading about Daisy and Graham as they put into action the plans they made to break the Chemist out and escape to Canada. It was quite funny to see how much effort they put into it, as well as how close they got, even though they left quite a few things unplanned.

    Great Story
Who was your favorite character and why?
Minno, I love her sarcasm and her tenacity at such a young age. She is a strong lead character that is a great role model for my daughters. We need more books with strong, smart, and sassy young girls.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The story made me laugh out loud at times, I became very invested in the characters.
    Interesting Middle Grade read
What did you like best about Minno? What did you like least?
It is a really creative tale with plenty of intriguing turns. There are issues with the way Minno acts at times. But it is very true to a child her age in her situation. In the end she learns her lessons.
Would you recommend Minno to your friends? Why or why not?
I would definitely recommend this book to middle grade readers. It was great for kids in a tough place and helping them deal with all those feelings.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
I have listened to other audiobooks narrated by Emily Beresford and really enjoyed them. She has a terrific pace and tone that suits the story. She puts just the right amount of energy and emotion into the words.
    Any additional comments?
