We often equate independence with strength — but what if circumstances put us in a place where we have to accept the help from others? When Rhonda Robinson's husband went through 2 years of health issues that left him unable to work, she learned in a whole new way what it was like to be in need. With 7 children at home this family was in crisis. Their small local church recognized the need and committed to taking an offering for their family every week While Rhonda was grateful, she was also uncomfortable. The Robinson family was hard working and never wanted to depend on others make ends meet. Now - due to no fault of their own accepting help was necessary to pay the bills, remain in their home, and keep food on the table.
Rhonda became free when she realized she didn't have to do it on her own and that there is strength in asking for and receiving help. After a long two years Rhonda's husband recovered and got a job making twice as much as he had before. Thankfully that very hard season was over but the lessons that Rhonda learn remain to this day.
Rhonda learned about trusting Christ in the hardest situations and how practicing gratitude in the storm opens your heart. Whether it’s asking for support during a hard time or simply allowing someone to show up for you, embracing help can be one of the most courageous steps on your journey. Join us as we unpack the fears, pride, and beliefs that hold us back — and discover why you don’t have to do it alone.
