In this episode we examine two of the most debated cases of alleged possession: the story of Roland Doe in late 1940s America and the Tanacu exorcism in 2005 Romania.

Roland Doe was a Maryland teenager whose strange experiences began after using a Ouija board with his aunt. Following her death, the family reported scratching noises, objects moving, and beds shaking whenever Roland was nearby. The activity eventually led to a series of exorcisms performed by Jesuit priests in St. Louis. Witnesses described violent contortions, objects levitating, and words appearing scratched into the boy’s skin. After weeks of ritual and struggle, the priests claimed the possession ended when Roland cried out that the demon was gone. He later recounted a vision of Saint Michael driving out the evil. His case became the basis for the novel and film The Exorcist and continues to raise questions about whether the events were spiritual, psychological, or a combination of both.

Half a world away and decades later, another case would shock the public. In 2005, at a small Orthodox convent in Tanacu, Romania, a young novice named Maricica Irina Cornici began showing signs of distress. She had been diagnosed with schizophrenia at a local hospital but was released to the convent’s care. Believing she was possessed, the priest and several nuns chose to perform an exorcism rather than return her to medical treatment. Irina was restrained, bound to a wooden cross, and kept in isolation while prayers were said. She was given little food or water and died during transport to the hospital. 

The Tanacu exorcism divided Romania. Many saw it as a tragedy of faith overtaking reason, while others believed Irina truly suffered from demonic possession. 

Both cases sit at the intersection of faith, psychology, and ethics. Each asks the same difficult question: when does an exorcism become an act of faith, and when does it become harm?

Tonight, we travel to the deserts of the American Southwest—a place of red stone, endless stars, and ancient stories whispered on the wind. Here, among the Navajo Nation, one of the most chilling legends of all still walks the night: the skinwalker, or as we respectfully call them, flesh pedestrians.

According to Navajo tradition, these beings were once healers who chose the dark path, trading harmony for power. To become one, it’s said a person must commit the unthinkable, kill a close relative, and perform rituals that twist sacred healing into corruption. In return, they gain terrible abilities: shape-shifting into animals, controlling minds, mimicking voices, and spreading illness or death.

They’re most often seen as coyotes, wolves, or human-like creatures moving on all fours or unnaturally upright. Witnesses describe glowing red eyes, scraping noises on roofs and doors, and the unmistakable feeling of being watched. Others speak of mimicry...voices of loved ones calling for help when no one’s there.

True stories come from the heart of Navajo land: a deer that stands on two legs, a fox that runs as fast as a car, lights that flicker in all directions while unseen things laugh in the dark. Some say flesh pedestrians can only be defeated by powerful shamans, or by calling their true name aloud, stripping them of their power.

But this isn’t a story for cheap scares. For the Navajo, this legend is sacred and deeply feared...a warning of imbalance, of what happens when spiritual power is misused. Talking about them casually or disrespectfully is believed to attract their attention.

So when the desert grows quiet, and the night wind begins to sound almost like a voice. Whatever you do, don’t whistle. Don’t stop. And never ever look back.

Imagine waking up in the middle of the night. You can’t move. You can’t breathe. And in the doorway stands a tall, faceless figure, cloaked in darkness, wearing a wide-brimmed hat. He doesn’t flicker or vanish. He just stands there. Watching. Waiting.

Tonight, we’re talking about The Hat Man...a dark presence that thousands around the world claim to have seen. He’s part of the broader “shadow people” phenomenon, but unlike most fleeting shadows, the Hat Man lingers. Always tall, always dressed in black, always wearing that iconic hat.

Across cultures, versions of this entity appear under different names: the Old Hag in Newfoundland, the Pandafeche in Italy, the Karabasan in Turkey, the Pisadeira in Brazil, the Kanashibari of Japan, and the Gawi Nulim of Korea. Every version shares a chilling core: a figure that paralyzes you in your sleep, presses down on your chest, and watches.

Science calls it sleep paralysis, a waking dream where your body is frozen while your mind is alert. But that doesn’t explain why people across continents describe the same figure: a man in a hat. Paranormal researchers believe he’s more than a dream. He maybe a supernatural observer, an inter-dimensional traveler, or a manifestation of fear itself.

It's October—spooky season is officially here! Andi and Feliz are kicking off the month with one of the internet's most spine-tingling paranormal phenomena: Black Eyed Kids (BEKs). Imagine this: It's late at night. There's a knock on your door. You open it to find a couple of kids. But something is off. Their clothes seem outdated. Their speech is strange. And then you notice their eyes—completely black, with no whites, no irises. Just solid black. That's a Black Eyed Kid encounter. The first recorded story of Black Eyed Kids dates back to 1996 in Abilene, Texas, when reporter Brian Bethel had a terrifying encounter in a parking lot. Since then, hundreds of accounts have emerged—from parking lots to hotels to people's homes—all with chilling similarities.

In this episode, we’re lighting the way into one of Texas’s strangest and most enduring mysteries...ghost lights! These glowing orbs appear where they shouldn’t, move in ways no car or lantern could, and vanish without a trace. No one knows exactly what they are… but plenty of people have seen them.

We also discuss Squonkapalooza, the annual cryptid festival in Johnstown, PA, that celebrates this misunderstood "sad-sack" of the woods.

In this episode, we’re heading up to the Texas Panhandle to explore the haunted history of Amarillo, a city where the past echoes loud and clear. First, we visit The Nat, once a dance hall and now home to eerie footsteps and ghostly figures who never left the party. Then it’s on to the towering Santa Fe Building, where strange sounds and phantom elevator rides have left employees uneasy for decades. We’ll creep through the halls of the old St. Anthony’s Hospital, where reports of ghostly nurses and disembodied voices still linger long after the last patient checked out. And finally, we make our way to the ghost town of Old Tascosa and its Boot Hill Cemetery, once a Wild West hotbed of shootouts, lawmen, and restless spirits.

Amarillo may look quiet on the surface, but these haunted spots tell a much darker story.
