  • #76: Why what goes in your mouth impacts what comes out of your brain …
It’s story time today as we explore a very personal example of one time my physical and mental symptoms banged up against each other. Why? Because all this week we’re focussing on getting you ready to focus on your one big goal for November, getting you in the very best shape you can be, both mentally and physically.
And if your “one big goal” for November is to build a consistent writing habit, take this as your last chance, your final reminder. Rent A Boss starts on Monday! Yay! Go to RentABoss.uk to get signed up and get ready for a fabulous end to 2018. It’s going to be ace!

  • #75: Move your body!

What does moving your body have to do with mindset work? Spoiler alert: it has everything to do with mindset! Body, soul, spirit and mind. They’re all connected. If we don’t prepare ourselves physically, in conjunction with also preparing mentally,

What does moving your body have to do with mindset work? Spoiler alert: it has everything to do with mindset! Body, soul, spirit and mind. They’re all connected. If we don’t prepare ourselves physically, in conjunction with also preparing mentally, ahead of taking on any big goal, we’re going to make things much harder than they need to be.
And moving your body more doesn’t have to be scary or intimidating. It’s about finding what works for you and doing something. Done is better than perfect, remember?
And finally, consider this your penultimate reminder that Rent A Boss starts on Monday. Go to RentABoss.uk to get signed up. I can’t wait to work with you!

  • #74: Click whirr your way to a delightful (productive!) day
Today’s episode is inspired by a blog post I read all the way back in 2012. (Just six years ago but that’s at least 100 years in “internet years”, right?!?) In essence, it’s about channelling your brain’s love of routine and rituals to help you “get in the zone” for any creative project but it has wider implications too.
Give it a go for yourself and then let me know how you get on. Who knows, maybe it’ll stick you with six years (or more!) just like it did me.
And remember, if your “creative project” involves writing, I’d love to help you build a solid writing routine in November. Go to RentABoss.uk to find out more and join us. We start on Monday!

  • #73: Don’t be a dick!

Today’s episode was inspired by a conversation I had on Instagram with ‘Sum Guy That Writes’. We chatted about the “starving artist” role us writers step into all too easily. I suggested we could do away with that story and instead show up with a smile on our faces, decide our big project would be as easy or as hard as we decide it will be, and run with that.

And if you’re looking for support to build consistent writing habits, Rent A Boss starts on Monday. Go to RentABoss.uk to get signed up.

  • #72: Watch your language!
This week we’re focussing on preparing your environment, getting you set up for success, so that when November 1st hits you’ll be ready to write.
And that starts today with considering the language you’re using when you talk about your upcoming writing plans. It’s great to share your goals with the people around you but HOW you tell them is probably even more important than when or where you tell them.
Using empowering, positive language will influence how they feel about your goal but it has an even bigger impact than that. It also changes how your brain approaches your goal.
And if you really want to set yourself up with the very best chance of success, go to RentABoss.uk and get signed up before the doors close for another year. I’m excited to work with you!

  • #71: Writing and editing are not the same thing!

In today’s episode we’re exploring two very different processes: writing and editing and yes, this applies very specifically to words but it can be applied to other big projects too. All this week we’ve been thinking about the “messy middle”,
