There is a painful gap between the way things are and the way they should be. The tension between the brokenness of our world and God’s ultimate restoration is found in Matthew 6:10. When we pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven,” we remember that we can face brokenness, own our part in it, and hope beyond it.
