Rainy days, thunder storm sounds, rain sounds, rain and thunder sounds, rain storm sounds. These are all terms which are thrown around the internet a lot. So much so, that they all begin to blend into one. Rain and Thunder sounds are however, different.
It may help to think of them in the metaphorical sense. Rain is the sound which is produced when water is falling down from the sky. Thunder is the sound which is made from the clashing of lightning and thunder together. These two sounds are distinct. That is why we use the term Rain and Thunder, to differentiate the two sounds. Most of the time people record the Rain and then the Thunder to go with it. This is fine but it makes it more difficult for you to find both at once.
So, how does one record the two sounds and then put them together and make rain storm sounds? What you will need are a couple of microphones, a mixing desk and the ability to edit pieces together.
Preparing your microphones
The first thing you should do is prepare your microphones. If you are going to record the rain you will need a decent pair of microphones. Make sure that the microphones are very close to you, this will help with the effect.
Second, turn off any amplification or echo on the microphones. We recommend using a 1/3′′ to 1/8′′ cable to connect the microphone(s) to your mixing desk. This will allow the microphone to be amplified with a separate channel.
Third, run the microphones through a 1/8′′-1/4′′ audio splitter. This will allow one channel of the mix to be sent to the microphone and the other channel to be sent to the mixing desk.
Fourth, record the rain hitting the microphone.
Fifth, once it has stopped, record the thunder.
Sixth, once your thunder has faded away, record the rain again.
Seventh, once the rain has stopped, process both channels and then put them together.
There you have it, rain and thunder sounds. It is very simple to do. It is being conducted on a professional level. That being said, even professionals get it wrong sometimes and fail to record the relevant sound and combine them in the right way.
Have you ever heard a recording which has had the rain drowned out by the thunder or vice versa? That is not a good sound. Pure rain storm sounds are one of the best sounds to have on a stage. There is nothing better to hear than someone in the back row dancing to the music, soothed by the sound. They might not know what is actually going on but they are enjoying themselves. That is what keeps the audience clapping for more.
So, next time you go to a performance of a band which plays loud music, make sure that you have an ear towards the back. It could be that a group at the back will make your ears pop, but it is worth it.

TURN OFF THE LIGHT AND LET YOUR MIND RELAX AND SLOWLY FALL ASLEEP WITH THIS EPISODE. FEATURING RAIN AND THUNDER WITH SOFT MUSIC AT THE BACKGROUND. I HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS ASMR PODCAST.
If you are looking for a quiet place to do your work or relax and unwind, then a rainy day is a fantastic choice. There is something about the water, the weather, the thunder and the rain that makes a rainy day peaceful and quiet.
It is often in our work and personal lives that we need to be at peace for long periods. For some of us, work creates a good home life balance. For others, work can be very stressful and leave them with little time to unwind. When work gets to be too much, it is often difficult to find the time to relax and unwind.
What better way to unwind than to record the rain and thunder and play it back? If you are asleep, the gentle noise of the rain will be enough to relax you to sleep. If you are awake, the gentle rain, if you have played it at a low volume, will all be you need.
You don’t have to live in a huge building to find a quiet place. Sitting on a comfortable chair in the garden or balcony can allow you the areas needed to enjoy the music.

• Someone combing their hair
• Someone eating
• Someone eating food at a table

Others feel a pleasurable tingle on the back of their neck or a slight warm feeling. There are some videos that are less likely to trigger the great feeling of relaxation, for example someone using their voice loudly, someone shouting at you or someone who talks very fast.
Some people say there that ASMR relaxes them and helps them fall asleep.
It is believed that ASMR can trigger a pleasurable feeling in part of your brain called the primary motor cortex (PMc). The PMc controls things like pain, breathing, automatic processes, and more. Some researchers believe this area in the brain is larger in many people, leading to a harder time getting to sleep.
