I had an epiphany after releasing the episodes that I felt was worthy of sharing, as well as having a desire for conversation about these episodes, which is a different experience to the actual process.

Today on the show, my guest is Michael Hsu. He is an author, coach, and expert who specializes in helping us to heal our anxiety, anger and depression through techniques he as developed to address our core fears.

According to Michael, "The reason why anxiety, anger, and depression keep coming up in our lives and in our society is because we are not uncovering and exploring the underlying root cause which lies in intergenerational healing. Understanding intergenerational healing will forever change how we as a human race understand and ultimately heal anxiety, anger, and depression."

He has is own podcast, Heal From the Ground up, which I highly recommend checking out as a modality for your own healing. He also offers a master-class and working with him one on one, such as you will see in this episode where Michael helps me uncover what fears my anxiety about revealing myself, and being vulnerable in releasing my podcast are rooted in.

Who's movie am I in that I believe is my own? Like an emotional sponge, I have picked up fears, emotions, behaviors and patterns that are possibly not mine, and so have you.  Michael shows us how to make these conscious and heal them.

In this very special episode of the podcast, I sit down with Lauri Taylor to discuss the period of her life when she and her family were upended by the disappearance of her mother.  

Found 10 days later, beaten and battered across the Mexican border, Lauri began working with law enforcement to find her Mother's killer, only to sadly discover, after a grueling 4 years, that her mother had not been murdered. Lauri's Mother, it was discovered, had actually died by suicide.

Lauri has now found purpose as a crusader for mental health advocacy, and greater awareness, more compassion, and less stigma in our conversations about these topics; subjects begging for more nuance in the way we speak about, perceive and process them.

We explore her thoughts, experiences, and where she has arrived to today in depth. Lauri is a treasure-trove of knowledge, wisdom and perspective. Her candor is a gift to us all, as is her ability to crystalize these concepts for us in story.

In this episode, I speak with a woman who entered my life about eight years ago when I was still married.  She had grown up with my then-husband, and our worlds collided when my husband revisited his home-town, and they had in intimate encounter in the orchard that he had proposed to me in.

We are definitely spill some tea, but this is actually an episode about forgiveness, processing a spinout, introspection, connection, and many other themes surprising themes, given the topic.

Finding it a somewhat common experience that it's easier to blame anyone or anything, even an inanimate object such as a condom, when peering up from the rubble of a collapsing union; we explore why the journey to taking accountability is so much more rewarding... no matter how long it takes to get there.

Thank you for joining me for another episode... Today I speak with Owner and Proprietor of Simple Modern Therapy, Heather Holmgren, about her experience getting pregnant and having a baby at age 16.

Though this event was meant to be shameful and derail her life and ambitions, she found a way to find meaning in the experience, and to embrace it as a beautiful part of herself and her journey.  

Her thoughts regarding this topic, her subsequent marriage and divorce, and marriage and mid-life in general are salient and precient.  As a marriage and family therapist who has allowed herself to experience and witness a wide spectrum of life's experience, she not only brings wisdom in spades, but her ability to parse these concepts, woven with story, revealing who she is along the way, is a gift for us.

Today I speak with Pro-Age Health & Life Coach Julie Scott about her marriage and subsequent affair with a woman acquaintance.

Julie was raised to a be the quintessential 'good girl' -doing everything right... getting married, working, adulting.  But life served her up a nice heaping plate of 'is this all there is' pretty quick.  And she found herself pushing boundaries and testing the limits of the constraints placed upon her.

Through her spinout she both lost herself and found a more honest and authentic version.

Welcome friend! So glad you're here with me, exploring what we can learn from the worst moments and times of our lives, as in invitation for whole-self integration... that's right, loving the totality of ourselves, even the ugly parts, and the full spectrum of our lives, not just our fleeting pinnacles of success and achievement.  

This trailer introduces a bit about what you can expect from my pod.  The ethos being; Don't love me for the mask I wear, don't adore me for the veneer you see on social media, don't applaud me for the image I project to you!  I want to show you my whole self, and let you be the judge, and I invite others who will be guests here to do the same! 

Although at times I hope it will be found poignant, I think in a lot of ways we are sitting at the intersection of comedy and self-development.

I will be having entrepreneurs, comedians, people in my life who have interesting stories to share, authors, magnates, sovereigns, witches, bitches all mining the caverns of their spinouts for the treasures surely contained within.  The experiences they share are just the backdrops for the feelings they felt, and what they learned about themselves and the world in the process.
