This is an episode about Girl Scout cookies. It's also an episode about the real feelings many of your students are probably feeling, right now...
Zac and Chad get a little confused if this a phone or a podcast and maybe share a little too much, but there is a really important conversation that youth pastors should be having today.
Embarrassment v. Guilt v. Shame
Are your students more afraid of being embarrassed more now than ever before?
Embarrassment
The way that many of our students (and us) are feeling relating to the world around them.
Guilt
Tied to actions that are based on internal moral/ethical standard.
"I don't lie."
Shame
Tied to actions that are based on an external moral/ethical standard.
"Am I a liar?"
What are you thoughts and experiences with embarrassment, guilt, and shame as a youth minister? What are you students wrestling with the most?
