The Punisher was meant to be a throw-away character first appearing in Amazing Spider-man #129. He was such a hit with readers Marvel kept him around and even gave him his own title. They wrote him into the story-line for Daredevil season 2 and he stole the show. Netflix/Marvel decided to give him his own series.

The first season of Punisher introduced us to Frank Castle/The Punisher. It also set up Billy Russo/Jigsaw for season 2. A lot of people were anticipating Jigsaw with a scarred & stitched face, but what we got was just some deep scratches on Billy's face. There was really no reason for him to have the moniker of Jigsaw when the damage to his face was nowhere near what would be deemed patchwork.

As much as Netflix set up Billy Russo to be the big bad guy in season 2, the new character of John Pilgrim was much more compelling. If, and it is a big IF, Netflix goes forward with a season 3 of Punisher I would like to see them use better villains, even if they have to invent them. We need to see someone really run Frank through the paces rather than just having him plow headlong into fights. I want to see a methodical and strategical Punisher.

The one thing that kinda stuck in the back of my mind was…. where did Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, etc go while Frank was filling up the body bags in New York? You think they would have heard about it on the news and investigated it? How was Karen Page the only one that came out to help Frank? I guess the Defenders were busy doing their own thing.

Let us know what you think about Punisher season 2. Did you enjoy it like Troy or are you indifferent toward it like Patrick?

Monopoly is a staple of most board game collections. Most people have played some version of Monopoly in their life. Even if you were never subjected to the rigorous real estate game, you undoubtedly know of the game and the basics of how it is played.

Danny and Trevor take opposing viewpoints on the game of Monopoly. Trevor is not a fan of the game, while Danny enjoys it when played by the rules. That's right, most people are not playing Monopoly as it was intended to be played. Using the rules that come with the game, it cuts down on the play time drastically and makes it much more fun.

Do you agree with Trevor or with Danny? Let us know in the comments below:

M. Night Shyamalan completed his Eastrail trilogy with Glass. It is the sequel to both Unbreakable and Split. Glass ties the previous two movie together rather nicely.

In Unbreakable you are introduced to Elijah Price and David Dunn. Elijah Price has a rare disease causing his bones to be brittle and broken easily. David Dunn finds out he is super strong and impervious to a lot of injuries.

In Split we get to meet Kevin Wendell Crumb and his 20+ personalities. We find out that one of those personalities is the Beast who also has superhuman strength.

Glass stitches these two movies together. Glass should shut the door on the Eastrail trilogy, but it opens the door for another related movie. All I am gonna say is I am thinking about getting a clover tattoo.

We recommend watching Glass, especially if you've seen the previous two movies. If you've seen Glass let us know if you agree/disagree in the comments.

Nope, that is not a typo. We are not talking about Dumbledore's derriere. We define Magic Buts games as those that get describes as "Just like Magic, but…". Magic the Gathering has been a very popular game for over 20 years, so they must be doing something right. It's no wonder that a lot of games emulate aspects of the game.

Trevor and Danny discuss the pros and cons of "Magic But" games. These games utilize at least some of the mechanisms used in Magic the Gathering.

Do you like "Magic But" games or do you prefer to just play Magic the Gathering? Let us know in the comments.

The Game of Thrones series has been a huge success for HBO. In Season 7 they surpassed the Sopranos in audience size. It is an adaption of George R.R. Martin's books. So far, George and the show runners have had no problems killing of prominent and well liked characters... sometimes they kill off large groups at a time (Red Wedding). The one thing we've learned from Game of Thrones is you shouldn't get attached to any character cuz they might be dead next episode.

Game of Thrones Season 8 will be the last season for the series. They have a lot of story-lines that need to be resolved. Even with all the deaths there are still plenty of compelling characters left. We finally see Jon, Arya, and Sansa re-united in Winterfell, Daenerys sets foot in Westeros, the Hound and the Mountain get to square off, Tyrion faces Cersei, Bran becomes the 3 eyed raven, Euron Greyjoy resurfaces, and we get to see more of Gendry.

The cast has said in interviews that season 8 will be the bloodiest and most heart wrenching. Lots of killing, betrayal, and treachery. Gwendolyn Christie (Brienne of Tarth) said after watching the season finale people will need to get therapy.

Game of Thrones has been a great series so far and I am happy to see them go out on top. What are you looking forward to in Season 8? Let us know in the comments.

The Walking Dead comic book has been a great success for Image Comics. It has been an even bigger hit as a TV series for AMC. Sure, there are zombies (walkers) in the show, but they are merely background for the actual drama of the show.

The Walking Dead is really about how bad humans treat each other when the societal norms crumble and it becomes every man/woman for themselves to survive. Inevitably some people rise to the position of leader of their group. Some of those leaders are good (Rick Grimes). Other leaders go too far with their authority and become villains.

The Walking Dead has given us some really good villains in their run so far. We have had Merle Dixon, the Governor, Negan, and now we are gonna be introduced to the Whisperers.

The Whisperers are a group that believe to survive we need to devolve to a more animalistic nature. They don't protect the women or the weak. They believe they must endure to make them tough enough to live. They travel around in suits made of walker skins and they speak in hushed zombie-like tones. They can direct herds of walkers this way and effectively use them as weapons.

In the comics the Whisperers take out quite a few named survivors. They make life very hard for the survivors until they finally reach the point of war. In the comics the Whisperer War takes place over 6 issues. I believe it will consume the second half of season 9 and possibly spill over into season 10. In the comics, Negan is also a big help for the survivors in defeating the Whisperers. The TV series has deviated from the comic book while staying mostly true to the plot. We are interested to see how the Whisperer War unfolds in the TV series.

What do you think about The Walking Dead Whisperer War? Do you think they are a good foe for the survivors? Let us know in the comments.

For me, Unbreakable was really the first superhero movie. Before the big box office Marvel and DC movies, we were introduced to David Dunn (Bruce Willis). We find out that David Dunn is super strong and nearly indestructible after he survives a train wreck. We also meet Mr. Glass (Samuel L. Jackson). His real name is Elijah Price, but got the nickname of Mr. Glass due to his fragility.

Mr. Glass is a big comic book aficionado. He figures if there is someone as fragile as him, it stands to reason there should be those on the other end of the spectrum as well. He has set out to find the super-human equivalent of himself. That is where David Dunn figures in the equation.

Then we have the movie Split with James Mcavoy playing a multiple personality person who goes by the name, the Horde. One of his personalities is a super human individual that has the most basic instincts. We have no idea that Split is connected to Unbreakable until the end scene that shows David Dunn in his characteristic rain coat.

Now we have Glass which is being billed as the third movie in the trilogy. From the trailers it appears that all three (Mr. Glass, Horde, and David Dunn) are all in the same asylum being treated for believing they are super heroes. Mr. Glass seems to be the evil mastermind using the Horde to carry out his demands. David Dunn is the quintessential good guy trying to stop them.

Unbreakable and Split were both really great movies in their own right. Knowing they are tied together in a trilogy elevates them in my mind. I am really hoping Glass puts a big exclamation point on the series.

Did you like Unbreakable and Split? Are you looking forward to Glass like we are? Let us know in the comments.
