Zia Comics Nerdcast

John Wick took most people by surprise. This series of movies really changed the way action movies are shot and edited. Keanu Reeves fits the role of John Wick perfectly.

John Wick also introduced us to the Continental Hotel, which is a safe place for hired assassins. Ian McShane is great as the hotel manager and Lance Reddick is amazing as the concierge. In John Wick 2 we are shown Laurence Fishburne and his homeless assassins.

Now in John Wick 3 it appears John is put on the list due to breaking some rules. The Continental Hotel group is hunting him. John enlists the help of the homeless assassins. There is no love between the Hotel group and the homeless assassins so this should prove very interesting.

Did you like the John Wick movies? Are you looking forward to John Wick 3? Let us know in the comments.

There are a ton of great TV series out now on broadcast TV, cable, and streaming services. The only problem is there isn't enough time to watch them all.

Netflix and Disney are leading the way with their original shows on their streaming services. Disney is pushing out some Star Wars and DC Comics titles that are really looking good. Netflix is still leading the way with their Marvel Comics related shows, even with the cancellation of Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

What TV shows are you watching that we didn't mention. Let us know in the comments so we can add them to our DVR.

There has been a flurry of activity surrounding the Star Wars Universe ever since Disney purchased them. They have been putting out about one movie per year since they have taken the helm. The Clone Wars, Rebels, and Resistance have been really solid animated series for Star Wars. They are working on a few original series for the Disney streaming service. There will be a Star Wars Land at Disney Land.

There has been a small hiccup in the domination of all media by Star Wars. It has been announced that Boba Fett and all the other filler movies that were scheduled to air between the major Star Wars releases are put on hold indefinitely.

Other than that, things are looking pretty good for Star Wars in the near future. We can't wait to see the newest movie and we are already booking our trip to visit Star Wars Land when it opens in Fall 2019.

Are you a Star Wars fan? What are you looking forward to from the Star Wars Universe? Let us know in the comments below.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is an animated superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales / Ultimate Spider-Man. The premise is a scientific experiment gone wrong creates a rift between dimensions. This allows Spider characters from those dimensions to cross-over to the Miles Morales Ultimate Universe. It's a good thing because it is gonna take all of them to fix the problem before it destroys all the multiverse.

The animation style used for Into the Spider-verse is a unique combination of the in-house computer animation of Sony Pictures Imageworks and traditional hand-drawn comic book techniques. The trailer gives us a glimpse into what appears to be the Spider-man movie we deserve. We will see if it lives up to it's promise when Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse hits the big screen on December 14, 2018.

Disney is starting their own streaming service. They will be pulling all their old titles under the streaming service eventually when broadcast contracts expire. Disney will also be developing original content for their streaming service. One of those shows will be "The Mandalorian" directed by Jon Favreau. Disney is throwing a lot of money at this project and Favreau is a proven director, so we have high hopes for this series.

For those not steeped in all things Star Wars, Mandalorians are what Jango & Boba Fett are. They are a legendary race of warriors originating from the planet Mandalore and it's moon, Concordia.

Jon Favreau's Mandalorian will be Lucasfilm's first live-action Star Wars television show. It is set during the years between the fall of the Empire and the rise of the First Order. The Mandalorian should be a good gap filler between the major Star Wars movie releases.

The only negative is it will only be available on the Disney Play streaming service. That will require the purchase of another streaming service membership.

Are you looking forward to the Mandalorian? Let us know in the comments.
