Many students tell me that they are living in fear and anxiety every day due to the recent global health emergency. Indeed, it could be hard, and more important than EVER, to attend to our mental health and preserve our oh-so-precious peace of mind. In this episode, I’ll share with you the tips I swear by for staying sane in this day and age where sanity is almost a luxury and how to keep learning English despite my super hectic work schedule. The first piece of advice that I stick to is that I try my best to incorporate learning into my daily routine. This way, I make sure that I learn just a LITTLE BIT more every day and keep making SOME progress. (As I’ve always said to my students, learning English is like going on a diet. Crash diets NEVER work. The only sustainable solution is keeping fit, which is a year-round habit rather than a one-off action)I will elaborate more on this in this episode. The second piece of advice that I stick to is that I try my best to stay emotionally stable, calm and composed because, otherwise, I can’t learn! I do so my practising meditation and scheduling breaks in between blocks of time when I read the news. I block out time to make sure that while I’m working, I don’t get interrupted by unnerving news notifications from mobile apps or news outlets. I make sure that I do NOT read too much news because doing so can rob me of my peace of mind.Again, I will tell you more about this in the episode.See you inside!
