Apreparatory【预备的】meeting was held this afternoon for CPPCC delegates to discuss schedules as the first session of the 14th Chinese People’s PoliticalConsultative【咨询的】Conference Shanghai Committee will begin tomorrow.

中国人民政治协商会议上海市委员会第十四届第一次会议于1月10日上午召开，市政协预备会议于1月9日下午召开，期间审议通过正式会议议程和日程。

The annual session of the CPPCC Shanghai Committee will open at 9 am tomorrow at ShanghaiExpo【博览会】Center in Pudong and will conclude on Saturday. Nearly half of the 229 submitted proposals are focused on the economy. Other popular topics include policies to upgrade small hospitals.

市政协十四届一次会议10日上午9点在上海世博中心开幕，预计于周六（01/14）闭幕。政协委员已提交提案229件，经济建设类占比近半，其他热门议题包括升级基层社区医院。

Following thedowngrading【降级】of COVID-19 control measures to Category B protocols, the national immigration administration says Chinese nationals and foreigners requiring services for international travel, or services required to live and work in China can begin processing the necessary applications from Sunday, January 8th.

随着对新冠病毒感染实施“乙类乙管”，中国国家移民管理局表示，1月8日起恢复受理中外公民因出国旅游、外籍人士居留证件、工作签证等相关申请。

The following key points regarding the resumption of services were mentioned in an announcement by the National Immigration Administration on December 27th.

国家移民管理局12月27日发布公告，关于1月8日起恢复相关服务，主要有以下要点。

For Chinese citizens, this means the resumption of applications for ordinary passports for tourism purposes, including applications for visiting friends and relatives abroad, and mainland residents to visit Hong Kong.

将有序恢复受理审批中国公民因出国旅游、访友申请普通护照，以及内地居民赴港签注。

Foreigners can renew or bere-issued an ordinary visa, or residence permit, this includes urgent services as well.

恢复受理审批外国人普通签证和居留证的签发和更新，包括紧急服务。

The issuance of port visas and temporary entry permits, and theimplementation【实施】of the 24, 72 and 144-hour visa-free transit policy is also being resumed, as well as the issuance of exit-entry permits in China and border control areas.

恢复口岸签证和临时入境许可的签发，恢复执行24/72/144小时过境免签政策，以及恢复签发中国和边境地区出入境通行证。

The NIA is also resuming passenger clearance at land-based ports of entry, water ports and reopening fast channels at mainland ports servicing the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau.

If entering from Macau, no PCR test is required if you’ve been theremore than 7 days.If entering from Hong Kong, a 48hour PCR test is required, but there’ll be no more mass testingupon arrival.

Currently, we are running 18 international and regional passenger routes. More flight services will be added in the future, like Shanghai to Bangkok and Singapore.

China Eastern Airlines said it will run 48 international passenger routes every week in January with 184 flights. There will be up to 3 flights per week between Shanghai and the cities of Budapest, Auckland and Sydney. The airline says it plans to add services to Melbourne, Phuket, Chiang Mai and Malé in the near future.

As China downgraded its COVID-19 management and control protocols to Class B on January 8th, central quarantine protocols for international arrivals were ended and bans on flight were scrapped.

The“Yao-Chinese Folk tales” animation series became a hit in the first week of 2023, surpassing 40 million views since its debut on January 1. The series of eight animated short films series featuring Chinese folk tales is acollaboration【合作】between Shanghai Animated Film Studio and streaming video platform Bilibili. Stephen Rancourt has the story.

《中国奇谭》系列动画在2023年首周就成为热门话题，自元旦开播以来，播放量突破了4000万次。这一中式奇幻动画短片集由上海美术电影制品厂和哔哩哔哩联合出品，以中国民间故事为主题。记者Stephen Rancourt带来更多详细报道。

The animated shorts range from 15 to 25 minutes long, they are inspired by well-known characters from traditional Chinese folk tales and offer a new interpretation of“Yao”, which translates to demon or monster. The series used a variety of diverse elementsfrom Chinese culture and arts in the animation, such as paper-cutting and watercolors. They can be streamed online in 4K.

这些动画短片的长度从15到25分钟不等，灵感来源于中国传统民间故事中的知名角色，并对“妖”进行全新诠释。该动画融合了各种不同的中国文化和艺术元素，如剪纸和水墨画，支持4K格式播放。

The word“Qitan” in Chinese means“ancient legends”, they are a product of ancient imagination. People in the modern world also have an imagination, so we hope to impress the audience through these stories.  

狭义的对于“奇谭”的解释，就是一些古代的神奇的传说，是古人想象力的产物。那我们今天的人也有想象力啊，不管你做哪个维度的形式和外壳，内在的精神一定能打动当下的观众。

The director also said it took two years to put the series together, adding that views on BiliBili surpassed 10 million within four days following its debut on January 1.
