Unfortunately, the system (which includes the media, the universities that fund researchers and individuals who seek public recognition media) is set up to be biased towards announcing “breakthroughs” and “new discoveries” in the field of IVF. Sadly, a high proportion of these breakthroughs are based on inadequate sample sizes or largely hype.
