Welcome to Mom & Doc Talk!
Episode 1 is a short intro to who we are and why we are here.
Jody, the mom, shares a very brief introduction to life as a PANS mom and the rollercoaster of symptoms and tests and doctors and endless research that led her to homeopathy. Once she saw the profound healing that homeopathy brought to her family, she became a fierce advocate, not only for the PANS/PANDAS community, but for homeopathy overall.
One of the things that her advocacy brought about was the creation of the education and support group on Facebook: Homeopathy for PANS & PANDAS. If you are a parent of a child with PANS/PANDAS or that you suspect might have PANS/PANDAS, you can join us here for free: https://www.facebook.com/groups/PANDAShomeopathy
Dr. Bahr, the doc, then shares her own history with mental health challenges that would have been diagnosed as PANS as a child had it been understood then. She also shared how she went from hard core skeptic to fully embracing homeopathy for her own healing and as her main treatment modality for her clients.
The main goal for coming together for Mom & Doc Talks is to help bridge the gap between what a provider says you should do, and what is really reasonable for a parent of a special needs kid. It is also to help translate some of the super wonky aspects of being a P/P provider into parent friendly language.
In this episode we briefly talk about what PANS/PANDAS looks like, what homeopathy is, and set the stage for the education coming in the next several podcast episodes.
