Earlier today, its parent company Ornua announced that revenues last year were flat at €3.4 billion but its operating profit and Ebitda were up, helped by efficiencies achieved during the period.
But that was last year. Before Donald Trump won the US presidential election and later announced sweeping tariffs on all imported goods.
Kerrygold is one of the main Irish food brands facing a hit from Trump’s tariffs, which are currently set at 10 per cent for 90 days but could ultimately rise to 20 per cent.
Conor Galvin is chief executive of Ornua and he joined me in studio to discuss the impact the 10 per cent tariff is currently having on Kerrygold sales in US retail.
