AMERICAN RIPPER, Part 4 of our Jack The Ripper series features an exclusive interview with Jeff Mudgett, host of AE/History Channel's recent 8 episode documentary on the life and crimes of Herman Webster Mudgett, better known as H.H. Holmes, serial killer, and evidence that their research team has complied that they believe links HH Holmes to the Ripper murders in London. Mudgett discusses his challenges in writing the book "Bloodstains", which inspired the show, as well as the life and crimes of his great-great grandfather, HH Holmes, whose body count from his murder palace hotel in Chicago in 1893 and that of his mistresses and associates will never be fully known, as Holmes tended to incinerate most of his victims. Mudgett also discusses what it was like working with the History Channel teams in the making of the special.

JON'S TOP TEN WWII FAVORITES: #1 OF 10 BEST "The Commando Raid on St. Nazaire: the Most Daring Raid of WWII":
The St. Nazaire Raid, also known as Operation Chariot, was a British Amphibious attack on the heavily defended Normandie drydock at St. Nazaire on March 26th, 1942. The objective of the raid was to destroy the drydock in German-held St. Nazaire, thus denying an Atlantic repair port to the new and powerful German battleship Tirpitz, which by itself was capable of winning the battle for the North Atlantic and cutting off England from much needed supplies. A joint operation involving over 200 British Commandos supported by Naval forces and RAF, the raid, costly in human lives, was the most decorated single action in British WWII naval history. #WWII #Commandos #TheGreatestRaidofAll #StNazaire #Podcast #HistoryPodcast . "When Knighthood Stood For Courage, Honor, and Humility":
When David Bowie turned down the Queen's offer of Knighthood, society recoiled in shock when he refused it, saying that it really should go to heroes. Many in England agreed, arguing that heroes like 95 year old Johnny Johnson, the last survivor of Englands famed DamBuster squadron, and a true hero, should not be overlooked for knighthood in the way that he was. And they are right. There was a day, in years past, when Knighthood carried a code of valor, and meant something, when names like Richard the Lionheart, Bertrand de Gueslin, Joan of Arc, and Roberto Valletta, were spoken of as true heroes....men and women who showed incredible courage under impossible circumstances. "Amelia Earhart (pt. 2) Crash, Capture & Cover-Up":
Our Story: In AMELIA EARHART PT II we will discuss a mountain of witness (direct and indirect) testimony telling us that Earhart and Noonan survived their crash and were taken to Japanese held Saipan and imprisoned there, then either killed or allowed to die of dysentery from poor malnutrition. The island of Saipan is described as well as the Battle of Saipan, including the story of Suicide and Banzai Cliffs. We will discuss the two internments of the likely gravesites of Earhart and Noonan, the many military witnesses who saw her plane being destroyed by American military at Saipan's Aslito Airfield, and the many witnesses to related numerous stories of the presence of the two captured aviators on Jaluit, en route to Saipan. and in Saipan. The Battle of Guadalcanal-an air, land, and sea battle fought in the Pacific between August 7th and February 9th of 1942, was the first major offensive of WWII that tested American land forces vs. the Japanaese Imperial Army. It was a hard, brutal conflict for the 15,000 US Marines and 20,000 Japanese that were sent there, fought in an unforgiving climate of hot jungle, crocodile-infested rivers, and coral ridges- all teeming with malaria-carrying mosquitos and the stench of death. The men who fought there deserve to be remembered.
