I have 422 friends, yet I am lonely. I speak to all of them every day, yet none of them really know me.
The problem I have sits in the spaces between, looking into their eyes, or at a name on a screen.
I took a step back, and opened my eyes, I looked around, and then realised that this media we call social, is anything but when we open our computers, and it's our doors we shut.
All this technology we have, it's just an illusion, community companionship, a sense of inclusion,
yet when you step away from this device of delusion, you awaken to see, a world of confusion.
A world where we're slaves to the technology we mastered, where our information gets sold by some rich greedy bastard.
A world of self-interest, self-image, self-promotion, where we share all our best bits, but leave out the emotion.
We are at our most happy with an experience we share, but is it the same if no one is there?
Be there for you friends, and they'll be there too, but no one will be, if a group message will do.
We edit and exaggerate, we crave adulation, we pretend we don't notice the social isolation.
We put our words into order, until our lives are glistening, we don't even know if anyone is listening.
Being alone isn't the problem, let me just emphasize, that if you read a book, paint a picture, or do some exercise, you are being productive, and present,
not reserved or recluse, you're being awake and attentive, and putting your time to good use.
So when you're in public, and you start to feel alone, put your hands behind your head, and step away from the phone.
You don't need to stare at your menu, or at your contact list, just talk to one another, and learn to co-exist.
I can't stand to hear the silence, of a busy commuter train, when no one wants to talk through the fear of looking insane.
We're becoming unsocial, it no longer satisfies to engage with one another, and look into someone's eyes.
We're surrounded by children, who since they were born, watch us living like robots, and think it's the norm.
It's not very likely you will make world's greatest dad, if you can't entertain a child without a using an iPad.
When I was a child, I would never be home, I'd be out with my friends, on our bikes we would roam.
We'd ware holes in our trainers, and graze up our knees; we'd build our own clubhouse, high up in the trees.
Now the parks are so quiet, it gives me a chill to see no children outside and the swings hanging still.
There's no skipping or hopscotch, no church and no steeple, we're a generation of idiots, smart phones and dumb people.
So look up from your phone, shut down that display, take in your surroundings, and make the most of today.
Just one real connection is all it can take, to show you the difference that being there can make.
Be there in the moment, when she gives you the look, that you remember forever, as when love overtook.
The time you first hold her hand, or first kiss her lips, the time you first disagree, but still love her to bits.
The time you don't need to tell hundreds, about what you've just done, because you want to share the moment, with just this one.
The time you sell your computer, so you can buy a ring, for the girl of your dreams, who is now the real thing.
The time you want to start a family, and the moment when, you first hold your little girl, and get to fall in love again.
The time she keeps you up at night, and all you want is rest, and the time you wipe away the tears, as your baby flees the nest.
The time your baby girl returns, with a boy for you to hold, and the time he calls you granddad, and makes you feel real old.
The time you take in all you've made, just by giving life attention, and how your glad you didn't waste it, by looking down at some invention.
The time you hold your wife's hand, and sit down beside her bed you tell her that you love her, and lay a kiss upon her head.
She then whispers to you quietly, as her heart gives a final beat, that she's lucky she got stopped, by that lost boy in the street.
But none of these times ever happened, you never had any of this, When you're too busy looking down, you don't see the chances you miss.
So look up from your phone, shut down those displays, we have a finite existence, a set number of days.
Don't waste all our time getting caught in the net, as when the end comes, nothing's worse than regrets.
I am guilty too, of being part of this machine, this digital world, where we are heard but not seen.
Where(这一段系统说是有敏感词汇,打不出来)
Don't give in to a life where you follow the hype, give people your love, don't give them your like.
Disconnect from the need to be heard and defined. Go out into the world, leave distractions behind.
Look up from your phone, shut down that display, stop watching this video, live life the real way.
If I were a boy again, I would practice perseverance more often, and never give up a thing because it was or inconvenient. If we want light, we must conquer darkness. Perseverance can sometimes equal genius in its results. “There are only two creatures,” syas a proverb, “who can surmount the pyramids — the eagle and the snail.” If I were a boy again, I would school myself into a habit of attention; I would let nothing come between me and the subject in hand. I would remember that a good skater never tries to skate in two directions at once. The habit of attention becomes part of our life, if we begain early enough. I often hear grown up people say “ I could not fix my attention on the sermon or book, although I wished to do so” , and the reason is, the habit was not formed in youth. If I were to live my life over again, I would pay more attention to the cultivation of the memory. I would strengthen that faculty by every possible means, and on every possible occasion. It takes a little hard work at first to remember things accurately; but memory soon helps itself, and gives very little trouble. It only needs early cultivation to become a power.
If I were a boy again, I would cultivate courage. “Nothing is so mild and gentle as courage, nothing so cruel and pitiless as cowardice,” syas a wise author. We too often borrow trouble, and anticipate that may never appear.” The fear of ill exceeds the ill we fear.” Dangers will arise in any career, but presence of mind will often conquer the worst of them. Be prepared for any fate, and there is no harm to be freared. If I were a boy again, I would look on the cheerful side. Life is very much like a mirror: if you smile upon it, I smiles back upon you; but if you frown and look doubtful on it, you will get a similar look in return. Inner sunshine warms not only the heart of the owner, but of all that come in contact with it. “ who shuts love out ,in turn shall be shut out from love.” If I were a boy again, I would school myself to say no more often. I might write pages on the importance of learning very early in life to gain that point where a young boy can stand erect, and decline doing an unworthy act because it is unworthy. If I were a boy again, I would demand of myself more courtesy towards my companions and friends, and indeed towards strangers as well. The smallest courtesies along the rough roads of life are like the little birds that sing to us all winter long, and make that season of ice and snow more endurable. Finally, instead of trying hard to be happy, as if that were the sole purpose of life, I would , if I were a boy again, I would still try harder to make others happy.

Which is the better way to spend five minutes?
Every second, we have the opportunity to make the next second greater than now.
Because destiny isn't a matter of chance. It's a matter of choice.
So let go of what others want you to be.
Change is in all of us.
And the only person your destiny to become, is the person you decide to be.
Change destiny.

Once you have made the room for success, adding what you really want will give you pleasure and fulfillment.
If you try to add it on top of what you already have, it will become just another source of aggravation.
First, you must set up your life to support success.

Do you condemn yourself for things which you did--or failed to do--in the past? Everyone does this at some point. However, if you want to lead a successful and productive life, it is imperative that you release the past and not blame yourself for events which have already transpired and which cannot be changed.
The successful person takes this approach: Learn from past mistakes and make adjustments in future behavior. The strategy of berating yourself for past conduct solves nothing and only serves to lower your self-esteem. You create a vicious cycle where negative experiences and negative feelings are reinforced, which leads to more negative outcomes and more negative feelings.
If you insist on dwelling in the past, I suggest that you focus on your past successes. Visualizing and thinking about past successes is an excellent way to build confidence and self-esteem. What you think about is what you become. Therefore, when you concentrate on your successes, you help to create future successes.
When you find yourself starting to dwell on past negative experiences, immediately halt and remind yourself: "There is nothing I can do now which will change what happened. I learned a valuable lesson and will act in a more constructive manner next time." Regardless of what you have done--or failed to do--the only sane approach is to accept it and move forward.
The successful individual does not waste precious mental energy dwelling on past events which cannot be changed. Instead, he or she uses past mistakes as learning experiences and springboards to future successes.
How often do we come to a place in life where we feel there is no hope, no purpose for going on, no anything to live for? Some of us come to this place often while others just visit once in a while. But I am sure, most of us have been there one time or another.
During such times, the pain is intense, the fear is beyond comprehension and the confusion is great. What do we do at such times? Where do we go? Who do we ask for help? Where do we turn?
But there is always hope, always help if we can clear our heads, still our minds and listen to the deep calm voice that comes from somewhere deep within us. This voice has always been there and it will continue to be there. All we have to do is listen…
By being quiet within and listening to the guidance that comes from our soul, we will be led to take the right actions, meet the right people, ask the right questions and find the perfect solution to the problem which haunts us.
All you have to do is try it for yourself. You'll be amazed how seemingly impossible problems disappear as the mists before the morning sun.
Creating Your Own Life
Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there; they serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be: your roommate, neighbor, professor, long-lost friend, lover or even a complete stranger whom when you lock eyes with, you know that every moment that they will affect your life in some profound way.
Sometimes things happen to you and at the time they may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower or heart. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good or back luck.
The people you meet who affect your life, and the successes and downfalls you experience, create who you are; even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.
Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people you have never talked before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high. Hold your head up, tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself.
You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it.
The sun has just risen in the morning of another day. What can I wish this day may bring me?
Nothing that shall make the world or others poorer, nothing at the expense of other men, but just those few things which in their coming do not stop me but touch me rather, as they pass and gather strength.
I wish that this day could bring me a few friends, who understand me, and yet remain my friends; I also wish that this day could bring me a job to do which has real value.
I wish that this day could bring me a mind unafraid to travel, even though the trail be not blazed, and I wish that this day could bring me an understanding heart.
I wish that this day could bring me a sight of the eternal hills, and the blue sea stretching to the horizon, and of something beautiful which the hands of men have made.
I wish that this day could bring me a sense of humor, and the power to laugh, a little leisure with nothing to do.
And I crave for a few moments of quiet, silent meditation in the morning of this day.
I also wish that this day could bring me the patience to wait for the coming of these things, with the wisdom to know them when they come, and the wit not to change this morning wish of mine.
