Is mental toughness something we are born with? Is it a skill set we can develop?
In Professional Golf, some players are famous for getting the job done. Others are sadly infamous for when their moment of opportunity arose, somehow snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Their failure became a defining moment, and many never returned to the top of a leaderboard again, and in some cases giving up the game of golf entirely.
In today's podcast, Robin, Neil, and Mike discuss what lies at the heart of mental toughness and explore players and events that have shaped many careers. There is a division between those who believe it is something we are inherently born with and others who think it is a mental muscle we can develop and grow. As always, there is a difference of opinions and a few areas of commonality. However, it is worth noting that in the age before the arrival of mental conditioning gurus, some of the toughest players in the game had one remarkable thing in common this will be discussed in detail along with other aspects of the game.
