00:01:08—Flinchbaugh Ag Policy Chair-- K-State agricultural economist Allen Featherstone reports on a recent fundraising achievement that has created the Barry Flinchbaugh Chair in Agricultural Economics:  this will support a variety of education and scholarship opportunities in the area of agricultural policy, not only for students, but for elected officials and other policy makers as well...and may eventually establish the Flinchbaugh Center for Agricultural Policy at K-State along with a high-profile lecture series in the name of the long-time national leader and educator in agricultural policy

 

 

00:12:07—USDA Program Roundup--The acting state director of the Farm Service Agency, Chuck Pettijohn, covers several USDA program items of interest to Kansas agricultural producers...including the rapidly-approaching deadline for reporting fall-seeded crop acreage, the distribution of final WHIP-plus program payments for 2019 and 2020 disaster losses, and a reminder about recording livestock losses due to adverse weather to qualify for the Livestock Indemnity Program

 

 

00:23:07—Monitoring Dairy Feed Status--On this week's edition of Milk Lines, K-State dairy specialist Mike Brouk advises dairy producers to monitor the state of their stored feedstuffs as winter comes on, watching for indications of secondary fermentation that could cause nutritional problems for the herd
