This podcast has spoken about ETFs – or exchange-traded funds – on many occasions. A kind of all-in-one investment, ETFs seek to track a particular index, commodity, sector, or basket of assets. In recent years, they’ve become popular with long-term investors who wish to diversify in one buy.

Okay, ETFs – we get those. But what about LICs, or Listed Investment Companies? If you read about both, they can seem quite similar; in fact, many people refer to both LICs and ETFs as baskets of assets. In truth, though, LICs and ETFs have some marked differences.
