MT is being stalked by a man she met at church. After church one day MT received a Facebook friend request with an odd message containing religious conspiracy theories, but accepted it anyway, believing it was her duty as a Christian to help him. He started following her around, taking non-consensual photos, told people they were dating, and even showed up on her dates with other men. MT was concerned and turned to the church for help...but the church elder said the solution was to marry her stalker. Growing up as a strict Hmong American Christian, she felt she couldn't turn her back on the church, so she agreed and moved in with her stalker. After suffering years of domestic abuse, MT finally escaped. She's speaking out to to encourage others within the Hmong American community to step forward as well.
