Oh man, I love Slippery Surfa. I never use the word "juxtaposition" however, it really is the best word to describe him. Surfer to his core, yet somewhat of a juxtaposition to the stereotypical surf culture norms of either:
a) being a laid back, soul surfing , spirit-animal
or
b) clean-living, mobility-training, paleo, breath-working enthusiast who is chasing the world tour dream.
He might be none, or all of those stereotypes, running alongside and refusing to be categorised. A familiar, yet colourful contrast.
Slippery raps about surfing, the activity he has done his whole life, and it is done with an urban street vibe...beachside. He grew up in the south-swell magnetic Sydney suburb of Cronulla, NSW, Australia; an area rich in slabs, whale migration, sharks, and crowds, crowds for days. And it seems like everyone who surfs around there rips too.  Only the white sharks survive apparently.
Maybe Slippery is a product of his environment? Maybe he is just a man who follows his heart? Either way, he is unique as fuck. Yes, he is easy to judge on the surface, however, a humble, kind, focused, man lies within and it is immediately obvious if you spend any significant amount of time with him.
Best surf rapper alive? Maybe. Rad human? Definitely.
