Jeremy Rowling is a skateboarder, photographer, dedicated family-man, and a lifelong friend. It's an important episode for me. As a teenager, Jeremy was that person I looked-up to the most. He was a few years older, a few years cooler, confident, kind, funny, and the catalyst that held the crew together. Enamoured with skateboarding, and as the the oldest...he had a job. This meant that he was able to buy the latest skate videos when they came out, in which we would spend countless hours watching, studying, learning, mimicking, and developing our sense of identity as individuals, and also as a collective crew, in the process.
In this week's episode Jeremy discusses his childhood growing up in semi-rural NSW, finding skateboarding, his family's move to the south coast, that time he knocked his tooth out learning how to ollie, finding a magical crew, that time Julian shot me with a slug-gun, skateboarding in a time without skateparks, legendary Nowra spots, influences, falling in love with his now wife, becoming a father, why radness begets radness,  and much much more. We could've talked for days reminiscing...Straight-up golden years of skating, partying, hanging with friends and no responsibility. Mainly good times, sometimes awkward, sometimes painful,  either way, it seems like most of us reflect on our teen years with great reverence.
