In just 20 minutes, I break down owning shares of Coca-Cola stock (ticker symbol KO)  compared to owning Bitcoin, over the past 12 months. I cover what the total ROI was for each asset in 2024. And I adjust for the true rate of inflation which runs about 8% a year. I explain what I would own and why.

If investing and making consistent profit was easy, then everyone would already be rich. Investing and doing it well, over time, is hard. But when you know HOW to evaluate an asset BEFORE you invest, I believe this information gives you an advantage.

Share price appreciation on ticker symbol KO from January 2024 to about July of 2024 was about 11% ROI. The price/share in January 2024 was about $58/share. The stock price topped out in July around $73/share. And at the end of December 2024, the share price had fallen to around $63/share. KO also pays about a 3% dividend every 12 months. So total return was 11% plus 3% equals 14% (minus true rate of inflation which is 8%). So total inflation adjusted return to KO...6% for investing your money in KO stock for 12 months in 2024.

Compare that to Bitcoin which does not pay a dividend but delivered a staggering 126% ROI in 12 months in 2024! Can you pick the bigger number? Which is bigger? 14% or 126%?!

Have courage today, to pick one thing, and work on your dreams.

I'm not a financial advisor. This podcast is for education/entertainment purposes only. You will need to do your own research and accept responsibility for the results of any money you choose to invest. I love using Schwab.com to buy/sell stocks/ETF's/closed end funds/options. Schwab has a very user friendly app/website and their customer service is excellent. I can easily get to speak to a human being whenever I have questions.
