I have had ambitions in my life. I have achieved some of them but I have failed to achieve other ambitions. The reason for my failure to achieve a goal has always been associated with（与之有关的） my lack of motivation. So, today, I want to talk about an ambition that I was really motivated to achieve and that ambition was to settle in Canada. I think it all started about five years ago, when one of my close friends moved there. Before that, I was completely unaware about（完全不知道） life in Canada. His words have built a fairytale image（建立了一个童话般的形象） of Canada in my mind. He told me about the difference in the quality of life（生活质量） between China and Canada. The healthcare（医疗服务） and the education system in Canada are miles ahead（遥遥领先）. There is no corruption（腐败）; there is very negligible crime（非常微不足道的犯罪行为）; and more than anything else;there is value for labour（劳动是有价值的）. Honestly, it would be a dream come true if I could live in Canada, however, as you can imagine, nothing comes easy. A few years ago, as I tried applying for different universities. It required me to take different English exams to check my proficiency(熟练程度), but I failed every time. This made me feel miserable(悲惨的) as I was not sure what I was doing wrong. I attempted(尝试) several times but I was not lucky enough to get the score that I needed. That was the time I decided to just leave the thought(留意) of moving to Canada behind. Frankly speaking, it wasn't an easy decision to make. All those plans that I had were just neglected(被忽视的), but I tried to stay positive(保持乐观) . Even if I couldn't make my Canadian dreams come true, I am still willing to try my luck in other countries, and that is why I am taking the IELTS examination again. Even if I fail today, I will try again because I am really motivated(有动力的) to fulfil this ambition(实现这一目标) this time.
