John-Michael Lander, a former Olympic contender, was stalked by a college classmate. 

During college, he was relentlessly followed around campus, receiving increasingly explicit notes from an obsessed stalker.  One night, the situation escalated tragically as John-Michael was drugged, sexually assaulted, and left unconscious by his tormentor. In his compelling book, “An Athlete’s Silence,” John-Michael courageously shares the painful narrative of his experiences, detailing the trauma of sexual abuse and his survival through sex trafficking. Through his advocacy work, John-Michael seeks to empower others to speak out against abuse and contribute to the broader conversation about creating a safer environment in sports and beyond.
