The International Olympic Committee says sports around their world should lift their ban on Belarus competing individually or as a national team, that's been in place since the Ukraine War started in 2022. The IOC Executive Board says athletes "should not be limited by the actions of their governments". But Russia remain banned not because of war but of concerns about the anti-doping regime - its ten years since they were found guilty of state sponsored doping at Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.
