But this triggered a series of troubling behaviors, from sending inappropriate emails to reaching out to Libby's acquaintances and spreading falsehoods online; the situation quickly escalated into stalking. The stalker resorted to legal harassment, filing baseless reports with Child Protective Services and even accusing Libby of being the one stalking her. In response, Libby took the necessary steps to involve the authorities, initiating an investigation into her stalker.
