NEW DEPTH CHART!

http://www.stakingtheplains.com/2019/08/27/texas-tech-football-scratch-pad-depth-chart-released/

From will aka ftw: his viewing of Yost’s offense shows little/no mid-drive personnel changes

Notable quotes:

OL plays together like a fist, if ones off, they’re all off

Travis Bruffy will be the governor of Texas someday, will probably solicit votes during his press conference

FCS #14 Montana State Preview - this is where opponent interview preview would go

2018 schedule and results

Rules changes

Targeting

All elements of targeting must be present in review, otherwise it will be overturned.

Added “attacking” piece to targeting definition; deals with intent instead of incidental contact

Repeat offender: on 3rd targeting foul, player will automatically receive a one game suspension following their missing of a half due to targeting call

Overtime

Starting with the 5th overtime period, teams will alternate two-point attempts until winner is determined

Kickoff return blocking

No more two-man wedge

Celebration penalty - THIS ONE’S GOING TO GET HAIRY

Horns down no longer a foul, kind of

“It depends. It’s like any unsportsmanlike act. If somebody scores quickly, turns to their cheering section, and it’s quick and they move on, we’re not going to do anything with that. If it’s to a bench or to another player, and it’s prolonged, it would be an unsportsmanlike. Like any play, there is a degree, who it’s directed at, if they do it in their bench area, we’re not going to look at it. It would be like any other celebration foul, so it has to be like any other foul we have.” - Greg Burks, Big 12 Officials Coordinator

Blind Side blocks

Near elimination of all blind side blocks

“When it comes to a matter of safety we’re always going to err on the side of safety. So we want the player to behave to where you can push them, shove them, not drop a shoulder or a torso and get the same effect to spring the ball carrier without delivering a blow that might hurt somebody.”
