For many in midlife there is a period of time where you’re responsible for the care of both your ageing parents and your own children - regularly referred to as the sandwich generation. It often means we are caught between two worlds. On the one hand trying to be there for ageing parents who are adjusting to physical, mental, financial changes and on the other also being responsible for their own children at the same time. It can mean emotions of guilt, grief, anger and resentment can come alongside as we are stretched too thin.
