Ever since Dr. Ken Kamler, an orthopedic microsurgeon and Fellow in the Explorers Club, found a random book with a weird name on his dad’s bookshelf that just so happened to inspire him, his life has been the definition of adventure. From Everest to Peru, he has traveled all over the world on various expeditions. Dr. Kamler has documented many of his adventures in his books. In one of these books, he records his experience as one of the only doctors on the mountain during the 1996 Everest tragedy which was later turned into the movie, Into Thin Air. However, he never envisioned himself sitting on "The Oprah Winfrey Show "as a full hour guest talking about his adventures. Before he was well-known for research on surviving the extremes, Dr. Ken Kamler signed up for a rock climbing class. He knew that that class would be the first part of achieving his dream which had been awakened by a random book that he happened to pick up. In this week’s episode, Dr. Kamler explains his practical advice for conquering one’s goals. Even if they are the size of Everest.
