Will Clarke has been one of Great Britain’s most successful triathletes. From World U23 Champion, to Olympic Games, to 7.45 Ironman performances, he’s been at the top of the sport since 2002. He’s decided to step back from international pro racing in 2020. We catch up with Will to hear the story of his 2019 season, including his early season successes at Outlaw Half, 70.3 Staffs and Ironman Brazil, through to his 25th place at Hawaii and decision to retire from Pro racing. He talks about training with Patrick Lange in the run up to Hawaii, the frustrations of poor kit constraints due to sponsors, and ultimately his move to coaching, with his successes with Ruth Purbrook winning the overall AG race in Hawaii. He also tells us about his plans for 2020, and his new race team Riot Racing.
