Ruth Purbrook won the overall age group title at the 2019 Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. She managed this despite working a 'real' full time job, where she regularly put in 50-70 hour weeks working in banking in London. In order to fit in her training, she was up every morning at 4.30 am and training on Zwift by 4.45am! She also had a horrific bike crash only 12 weeks before Kona where she broke her collar bone! We hear the story of her progression from hockey player to World Champion, and about her recent decision to turn professional. We hear about how she works with her coach Will Clarke, how the decision to reduce her working hours has helped her improve largely through her increased ability to sleep more, and about her amazing experience as part of the Zwift Tri Academy.
