In 2018, David McNamee became the third fastest finisher ever at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, in a time of 8:01:09. Hoping to go one (or two!) places better, he came back in 2019 in the shape of his life - but things didn’t go to plan. We hear about that race, the lead up, training with Jan Frodeno, and the challenges of trying to stay in shape during lockdown in Girona, trapped in an apartment with only a 15m balcony for outside space!
