Welcome back to the daily gratitude minute. My name is Scott Colby and. My gratitude minute. Hasn't been so daily lately. I haven't done an episode since April 1st. My apologies took some time off, but we're back at it and today's tip. I want to talk to you about. What do you do? If you're struggling with gratitude, you know, let's face it. Sometimes we may find it difficult to practice gratitude.
What if we're going through a rough patch in our lives, or how do we practice gratitude then? Or maybe we are practicing gratitude, but we still have a lot of struggles and negative thoughts. Rest assured these struggles and thoughts are normal. But today I'm going to give you three ways to help you practice gratitude.
In a meaningful way, which may help you in your time of need. Okay. First tip gets specific in the beginning. We may be vague with our gratitude. I'm grateful for my cat. My family and my friends. However, to really expand on this, try getting a bit more specific each day. Express what or who you're grateful for.
But then say why you are grateful. This helps us look outside of the more obvious gratitudes. Dig deep. Okay. Number two, turn it into a game. If you're struggling to find anything, to be grateful for, turn it into a game, challenge yourself, to find a positive in everything, no matter how small or silly you can also reframe situations that may initially seem negative into something positive in this way.
For example. My friend canceled on me today, but I'm grateful. It meant I didn't need to get dressed. Okay. Third tip extend your gratitude to someone else. If you've put a particular person on your gratitude list, have you told them. If not, why not? Let your friend know how much you appreciate them.
Even better, write them a letter and read it to them. I promise it will be the highlight of their week. And yours too. That's it for the daily gratitude minute. This has been Scott Colby. Thank you so much for tuning in and I'll see you tomorrow.
