Welcome back to the daily gratitude minute. This is Scott Colby with say it with gratitude. A few months ago, I did a virtual gratitude workshop for LinkedIn. And one of the activities I had them do was to take a few minutes and find the most surprising, weird or unique facts about gratitude. Here's just a personal list of what they came up with.
Women are more grateful than men. People are less likely to express gratitude at work than anywhere else. Gratitude is good for your cholesterol. Grateful people spend more time. Exercising. Gratitude can improve your sleep. Gratitude can help you achieve your goals and you can overdo it. Now the second one is quite disheartening to learn.
It seems hard to believe, but a national survey found that work as the last place. You're likely to hear gratitude. Only 10% of people say thank you to their colleagues on any given day. And 60% of people never express gratitude at work, even then appreciation in the workplace is much more than saying, thank you.
It's more about getting to know someone on a personal level and letting them know how much you value them. Uh, not just for the work they do, but for being a human. Let them know a quality about them that you like. That will go a much longer way than saying a thank you for a job. Well done. Now if you want my best tips on how to cultivate gratitude at work in, in your personal life. I've got a gratitude toolkit for free and you can download it at gratitude. toolkit.com. I'm scott colby with say it with gratitude and this has been the daily gratitude minute cheers
