Hello? Hello. Welcome back to the daily gratitude minute. This is Scott Colby. Thank you so much for being here.
I want to give a suggestion to you. I talk a lot about unplugging and connecting with other people. And, uh, unfortunately we're in front of our screens most of the time, whether we're working on our computer or just, we've got our phone tied to us, right. Almost tethered. Uh, and we're often looking at her phone, even when we're in the company of other people.
Uh, one thing that I love about my workout group, I work out with a group of guys on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 5 45, or excuse me at five 30. We work out outdoors and then Saturday morning at seven in the morning. We don't use our phones. Right. We're, we're committed to give it our best effort working out, but we're also having fellowship. So we're connecting with it with each other and it's like the one time.
During my day that I don't use my phone. Um, and I completely present with what I'm doing. So I wish I didn't use my phone more. Um, um, admit that I'm addicted to it as are millions of people. But my suggestion to you find a time during your day and do this every day. If you can. To just leave your phone behind whether you just leave it at home or leave it in the car.
Um, and just connect with at least one other person without your phone. Maybe you're having a meal together. Maybe you're doing a workout together. Maybe we're just having coffee and conversation. Leave that foam behind. So you're not even tempted to use it and you can be fully present and really connect with that other person.
When you listen to the other person, when you're having a conversation, that's a sign of gratitude. It's a sign that you value them and you care about them. And that's what we want as human beings. So that's my message. I'm going to leave for you today. Hope that helps you connect more with somebody in your life and have a deeper friendship. Um i'm scott colby with sate with gratitude and this has been the daily gratitude minute cheers
