Welcome back to the daily gratitude minute. This is Scott Colby. Thank you so much for being here. I want to tell you about a recording that I've been listening to every day for the last 13 days, I've listened to it 13 days in a row. And my plan is to listen to it every day in October. So that's 31 straight days. It's called the strangest secret by Earl Nightingale. You can find the recording, several different recordings.
Um, on YouTube. Now, the message is a little bit outdated. However, the core idea behind the message is true to this day. And as core message is we become what we think about. We become what we think about. And I want to kind of share with you an analogy that he talks about on this recording. He says, suppose a farmer has some land.
And it's good fertile land. The land gives the farmer a choice. He may plant in that land, whatever he chooses. The land doesn't care. It's up to the farmer to make the decision. Now he wants to compare the land to the human mind because. With the land, just like the mine doesn't care. What you plant in it.
It will return what you plant, but it doesn't care what you plant. So he says, let's say the farmer has two seeds in his hand. One is a seed of corn. The other is night shade. A deadly poison. He digs two little holes in the earth and he plants both seeds, one corn and the other night shade. He covers up the holes, waters and takes care of the land and what will happen.
And variably the land will return what was planted. So remember the land doesn't care, it will return poison in just as wonderful abundance as it will corn. So up comes two plants, one corn. One poison. He says the human mind is far more fertile, far more incredible and mysterious than the land, but it works the same way.
It doesn't care. What we plant success or failure, a concrete worthwhile goal, or confusion, misunderstanding, fear, anxiety, and so on. But what we plant must return to us. So what he's saying, there is, again, we are what we think about. So if you're thinking. Negative things. If you have anxiety, if you're always complaining and just thinking about things that are going wrong in your life, that's what you will get more of. However, if you were grateful and optimistic and seeing the good in things and putting positive thoughts in your head,
You will get more of that. So whatever we put in our heads, we will get more of whatever we plant in our minds. That's what will come to us. So hope you like this little tip.
