378: Entrepreneurial Lessons Learned Through Hip Hop with Dr. Tori Ellis

Listen Later

Are there lessons to be learned from the world of hip-hop? The answer is YES! Today’s topic should expand your lens and encourage you to look at things a little differently regarding how culture influences the way we show up in life. Join us to learn more!

Dr. Tori Ellis is a native New Yorker who has always been inspired to lead and guide others in the educational and workplace realms. Witnessing her family’s efforts to support and empower youth in the community from an early age, Tori decided to build upon that legacy and carve out her unique path. Pursuing psychology and criminal justice as an undergrad, she went on to earn her master’s degree in industrial-organizational psychology and a doctorate in human and organizational psychology. Positioned as a millennial in contemporary society, Tori is dedicated to providing her peers and succeeding generations with the necessary tools to become exemplary members of society. Through a focus on wellness, positive psychology, and entrepreneurship, she is committed to holistic personal development and every effort that inspires and empowers children around the world to pursue their passions and be their best selves in every area of life. Being inspired and motivated by the hip-hop industry led her to write her best-selling book, The Sound of Business: Seeing Entrepreneurship through Hip Hop.
