Today we talk about Lashing Out. Many external factors impact our emotional and hormonal responses. Remember, feelings are not facts and emotions are not actions. As an example, anger is not aggression and happiness is not uncontrollable laughter.
The point is our emotions are not in control of our actions. Our awareness and the ability to utilize reason overcome our emotions and feelings.
Awareness is a relatively rare level of enlightenment and self control is a difficult skill to master. Understanding this principle is often all we need for forgiveness.
The process of Forgiveness. This may start with a Pros and Cons list. Then understand and analyze the list and remind yourself of the choice to understand and forgive.
We can empathize with the experience. In the absence of understanding we can wield compassion.
Forgiveness is rarely one and done. It is a choice we make over and over in our lives.
