When do I start to see Return on Investment with this? When do I start to see a benefit from this?
Meditation can feel like a waste of time. Sitting there and doing nothing can seem like a waste of our time. Think of it like going to the gym. You do not see results immediately. The same can be said for the gym sessions. You may have reservations about going to the gym. While you are struggling through the gym session, you may start to feel the enjoyment and benefit. The same can be said of meditation. You may not see the benefits right away, but you may become more aware of the benefits, as you continue the practice. The benefits from the gym are compounded over time from going to the gym. The same goes for meditation.
Chasing what you think it is supposed to feel like leads to failure. Successful meditation is simply showing up for yourself. Not all meditations will seem like a breakthrough. Some may be a struggle, just like a gym session. Be realistic with the way you measure meditation.
Immediate tangible results are not the way to define a successful session. Remember there is not a right or wrong, and there is not a quantitative answer to what is successful meditation. You can just sit and breathe, anywhere.
The more you meditate, the more trust you will have in yourself. Confidence and Trust come from momentum.
