When I introduce Alena for this week's episode, I explain she is an amazing everyday woman who is doing extraordinary things, and this conversation has only extended my thoughts further. Her life experiences have ignited a passion in her that has paved the way for helping others, particularly mothers who face maternal depletion. She is an award-winning educator, podcaster, and holistic health mentor with over 30 years of experience. Listen in as I chat with her about:
Early life trauma patterns, big T and little t and stigmatisation of family dynamics that may help us understand more in midlife.
Overcoming abusive addiction, including homelessness, rehabilitation and catalysts for change.
Single motherhood challenges which have helped to shape Alena’s current relationship and led to contrasting outcomes.
Extended her family in her early 40s.
Our right to authenticity and how motherhood gives us an opportunity to rethink who we are, but often that opportunity is not embraced.
