This week I am joined by Catherine Herling. She is a licensed family therapist and marriage counselor. She specializes in Neurodivergent Relationships.
This week we will be answering listener questions relating to her specialization with Neurodivergent Relationships.
Today’s Question: I have ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and I am in multiple relationships where it is challenging for other people to know what to do to understand me. Specifically, what can I do to help my partner understand me better?
Answer: ADD is much like other diagnoses, it can be different person to person. You will need different things from different relationships. Your partner should be the most transparent and open relationship where you can allow yourself to feel and be vulnerable.
Think of a Gentle Startup. Think of being able to organize and structure your thoughts. Share what you need, once you decide what you need. Consider ways to collect your thoughts to be able to share your needs.
Good Risings is a mindset. Join Elizabeth Earnshaw for a daily dose of Advice.
