King Herod stands as a stark warning of what happens when a person chooses to sit on the throne of their own life, determined to do whatever it takes to make themselves the king of their domain. His relentless pursuit of power is a mirror for each of us, showing the spiritual danger of letting our own desires and ambitions rule us, rather than submitting to God’s authority. To follow Christ means rejecting the temptation to be our own ruler, surrendering every area of our lives to His control, and allowing Jesus alone to reign as the King.
