A wonderful tool and habit to help with healing is detaching from shame. This could be summed up in one simple statement, “take it easy on yourself.” Just as bravery is not the absence of fear, it is the response to fear. Allowing yourself to make mistakes is okay. How you handle those mistakes is key. Life will never be absent of pain, fear, hurt, or mistakes.
Resilience is not the absence of fear. This is simply the way you handle it. Look at the how, when, and why of the perceived failure. Remember, it may not always be a mistake.
Negative self-talk, is learned behavior that is hurting. Initiate a cycle of self praise. Shaming yourself can be overcome by standing up after the perceived behavior or mistake. Consider evaluating and become aware of what propels you forward.
