In this episode I am sharing a powerful way to build connections with others. Connection is the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued, when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.” – Dr. Brene Brown. The number one desire we all have is to build connections, to be seen and heard.
In today’s episode we discuss:
1) There are four principles of conscious connections: empathy, authenticity, shared values, and support. So ask yourself if you are desiring more connections in your life, are you embodying these principles? Can you give empathy towards others, that is simply your ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Are you practicing authenticity (using your voice, message and values), and are you willing to give support to others without wanting or expecting something else in return? 2) Vulnerability is the path to building connections, “The definition of vulnerability is uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure. But vulnerability is not weakness; it's our most accurate measure of courage - Brene Brown. It is that unstable feeling we get when we step out of our comfort zone or do something that forces us to loosen control. 3) The number one desire we all have is to build connections, to be seen and heard. How can you go first and do this for someone else with no expectation for something in return?
