This was an escalation from the rhetoric candidate Trump used along the campaign trail continually rebuking the mainstream media as purveyors of fake news. The President's disdain for the media made it no surprise when he said that he would not be attending last week's White House Correspondence Association Dinner. The event is a long-held Washington tradition that celebrates the free press of the United States and honors the work of journalists.

So what's it like to be a journalist covering a President who is so openly antagonistic to your profession?
